Work on the foundations of the Biocentrum building is nearing completion. Only the final piles and geothermal boreholes remain, and the first of the tower cranes - essential for the next phase of construction - now rises above the site.
The Biocentrum is gaining solid foundations. As of 26 October 2025, a total of 256 foundation piles have been drilled, with just twelve remaining. Work is also progressing on the geothermal boreholes, which will contribute to the building’s future energy-efficient operation. Thirty boreholes have been completed, including technical outfitting and pressure grouting. Additional boreholes are still to be drilled - some with enlarged diameters to accommodate temperature sensors for long-term ground monitoring.
Efforts to secure the construction pit and ensure proper drainage are also ongoing. The second level of ground anchors is being completed, soil is being removed, and another pumping well is being installed - bringing the total to six wells, five of which are already outfitted.
In addition, a sample section of the stone façade has been completed, offering a glimpse of the building’s future appearance. The concrete base for the second crane has also been poured, with its arrival expected in about a month. According to the schedule, the third crane should join the first two before Christmas.
