            Dr. Rafael Navrátil group focuses on designing and developing innovative chemical reaction

            chemistry, for example selective functional group migrations which could simplify and acce
            development of new pharmaceuticals.


            The team focuses on developing innovative synthetic methods using transition metal catalys
            electrochemistry, with high potential for faster and more efficient drug discovery.
            Rafael Navrátil earned his Ph.D. at Charles University in Professor Roithová laboratory, d

            experimental methods based on mass spectrometry and ion spectroscopy to study ion photoche
            intermediates and reaction mechanisms. After his Ph.D., he conducted postdoctoral research

            Research, USA, focusing on electrochemical functionalization of unactivated C(sp?)–H bonds

            In 2023, he received the Junior Star grant of the Czech Science Foundation and established

            group at Charles University. He actively mentors students, fostering creativity, collabora
            independent development of young chemists.
