Fish Evolution Research Group (Dr. Zuzana Musilová) ****************************************************************************************** * ****************************************************************************************** Dr. Zuzana Musilová’s group focuses on fish evolution and adaptations of sensory systems, vision. Fish living in extreme conditions often have unusual adaptations, and research on the eyes aims to reveal the limits of the vertebrate chamber eye. This may ultimately lead to insig visual system. Zuzana Musilová studied zoology at Charles University and completed her Ph.D. at the Insti Physiology and Genetics, Czech Academy of Sciences. She then spent 4.5 years as a postdoct in Basel, Switzerland with Professor Walter Salzburger. Since 2015, she leads her own lab of Zoology, Faculty of Science, Charles University. She is a laureate of the ERC Consolidator Grant 2023 (SensingDEEP), Neuron Award 2021 for scientists, and the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science 2020.
