Informative meeting and seminar on the design contest

On September 16, 2015, a seminar for the potential participants in the architectural contest for the project of Campus Albertov was conducted, attended by Charles University Rector Tomáš Zima, architect V. Pleskot and academia members of Charles University faculties – Faculty of Science, First Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, and other guests. The presentations and lectures by the sponsor’s representatives informed present architects and project designers on the message and expectations related to the architectural contest. Many interesting questions were raised during the discussion.

In the afternoon, there was a meeting of the sponsor’s representatives, the academia and representatives of students. Most part of the meeting involved general issues, such as the advantages of the facilities for future generations, funding of the facilities, their operations or equipment. During the meeting, the participants learned about the project development, and the ongoing contest for the draft. Some important information was included in the presentations, stating specific results for the building of new facilities, and explaining why the contest is called for. In the final discussion, the academia members were especially interested in how the building and location of new facilities will affect their work, and what they can look forward to.
